“The more I read.
The more I'll know.
20 minutes a day
will help me grow.”
We are all invested in the success of our children. So where do we start? The simplest and best investment we can make is to read with children – from birth. Starting early is critical. Research demonstrates that when children are exposed to reading, singing, and talking, they enter school ready to learn to read. When shared reading continues through the early elementary grades, children succeed in school.
20 minutes a day is all it takes to build early literacy skills and experience the joy of reading.
We invite you to join us in this campaign, from your home, your business, your classroom. We all play a critical role in developing the reading proficiency of young children across the city.
So, let’s get started. Explore the site, find resources and events, and then get busy reading!
The most important 20 minutes of your day…read with your child.
